Ignite Excellence Group of Initiatives
Suzanne F Stevens is the Chief Edge Optimizer of the Ignite Excellence group of Initiatives. Her mantra is, “We all perform our best at the edge of our comfort zone.” Her goal is to assist people to push the edge of their personal and professional potential. She achieves that by bringing her backpack, briefcase and boardroom experiences to inspire individuals to elevate their personal backpack (everyday living), briefcase (business success) and boardroom (engaging many) fulfillment while creating endless possibilities.
Working Together to Expand Possibilities
Living at the edge to personal and professional potential starts at home. In March 2011, Suzanne and her husband, Michael K Gingerich will be embarking on an incredible journey they call ‘Mission Africa’. They will implement many initiatives all with the intention of depicting Africa through the lens of opportunity. Their mandate is to celebrate all that is good in Africa. They will focus on the beauty and possibilities of Africa for the world stage to appreciate.

Explorers, Writers & Photographers- On their journey of Mission Africa, Michael and Suzanne will be writing blogs from both of their perspectives and creating a photo journal depicting Africa through the lens of opportunity. Together they are on a journey of you, me and we.
This fourteen-month journey will commence in March 2011 starting in Kenya, Ethiopia and South Africa. For the first half of their travels they will spend five to six weeks in each of the five regions of Africa. Much of this time will be dedicated to raising funds for the Ignite Excellence Foundation, Africa Business Women Summit and interviewing women leaders for the wisdom exchange. The Ignite Excellence Foundation- Suzanne F Stevens founded the Ignite Excellence Foundation in 2008 (advised by Tides Canada – Charity number: BN 86894 7797RR0001). The mission of the foundation is Leadership, Advocacy and Education; the vision is to Invest, Inspire and Develop African women leaders of today for tomorrow.
The foundation does this through empowering African women to present their messages with confidence, providing scholarships for post-graduate education, investing in bricks and mortar, and raising funds and sponsorship for women leadership initiatives in developing countries. The foundation also supports Frontier College, a foundation promoting Canadian Literacy. Suzanne F. Stevens and her husband, Michael K Gingerich, are continuing to raise funds to provide scholarships and assist in building a women leadership centre, Leah Ngini Community Centre, at Africa International University in Nairobi, Kenya. Wisdom Exchange- The Wisdom Exchange is a resource to help African women to learn, lead and succeed in life, business, and community. It is a forum where women of all disciplines will be inspired from the achievements of African women in business, education, philanthropy and politics. These are the women that are the Change Agents of our communities, countries and continent. They will inspire us to stretch our vision of what we can do, and what WE can be. New interviews and Expert Perspective blogs will be updated regularly with the insights of the women leaders of today for tomorrow.
Wisdom Exchange is an initiative to support one of Africa Business Women Connected Summit’s (abwconnected) primary goals – to share insight, unite and further education women business leaders. Platinum sponsors of the abw connected will be featured on Wisdom Exchange website. Suzanne brings an interesting perspective to her new role as the Host of the Wisdom Exchange TV. She draws from her diverse business background, international travels, and her genuine deep interest in understanding another person’s journey, perspective and achievements. Suzanne and Michael are committed to the development of women leadership in Africa. Suzanne has created the Wisdom Exchange TV so women will inspire, educate and help each other develop the future women leaders of Africa. African women will hear the inspiration, motivation, and aspiration of their fellow citizens. Suzanne’s hope is that the listeners, and readers will gain more confidence and commitment to pursue their potential. African Business Women Connected Summit- As a fundraiser and co-producer Suzanne will be actively soliciting sponsorship for the summit. The summit’s objective is to enhance economic performance on the African continent in the three largest export sectors for women: craft/textiles, agribusiness, services.

As a trainer, Suzanne worked with fortune 500 companies for 11 years with leadership and sales teams to develop their influential communication skills in order to engage teams, win and maintain business.
